Green Tea For Weight Loss

Green tea is widely consumed by people who are on a diet for weight loss based on research, green tea has properties to help you lose weight. Green tea contains about 8.35% caffeine, catechins, 24.7% (± 70% is epigallocatechin gallate / EGCG). One glass of brewed green tea contains 300-400 mg and 100-200 mg of polyphenol compounds of which EGCG is believed to trigger weight loss. Benefits of green tea in weight loss are:

1.  Reduce appetite
In the study conducted by scientists from the University of Chicago on mice, rats apparently lost  their appetite up to 60% after the injected extracts of green tea every day for one week. It is concerned with the reaction of the body's blood sugar to green tea.

 2. Reducing fat absorption
Benefits of green tea one of which is to prevent the absorption of fat. Catechins are abundant in green tea may prevent a change glucose into fat cells. Green tea can also make glucose slow the increase in blood sugar after a meal, and insulin can prevent the rise hoard fat.

3. Increase metabolism
Research shows that green tea extract may increase energy in the body. After 24 hours, the green tea extract may boost metabolism up to 4%. It is caused by high concentrations of catechin polyphenols, the antioxidants contained in green tea. With this compound, the intensity of fat oxidation and thermogenesis (the number of calories that can be burned bodies) increases.

However, green tea should not be consumed in excess. Eating anything in excess would have a bad effect. If excessive consumption of green tea can cause side effects constipation or diarrhea, vomiting, and even headaches. Caffeine in green tea can also cause sleeplessness.


To be safe and healthy, you should follow these tips to consume green tea, so avoid the dangers and side effects of green tea:

1. Select a fresh green tea, make sure we do not keep the green tea over an hour. If tea is stored in a long time, then we can lose vitamins and antioxidants. The antibacterial properties of green tea are also reduced if not taken too long.

2. For those on a diet weight loss, green tea should be drunk before meals. This green tea to lose weight and control your appetite for a long time.
